I am a recent graduate from the Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, with an Art Education degree. I have 5yrs experience working with inner city youth who are judicated and required to attend anti-truancy programs, one of which offers art. My artistic background includes painting, drawing, sewing, printing, ceramics, and mixed media. My art background extends back to high school with a four year studio art program at Beaumont high school in Cleveland Ohio and a BFA in drawing and painting at the Ohio State University. I intergrate math, reading, science and other means of learning into my art curriculums. I am little Native American, records were destroyed, so my father's side of the family is unaware of which tribe we have some relation to. I have always truly believed that i do belong to some Native American group, which has inspired me in the past to learn about the culture on my own and in college through Native American History courses. Finally, I find that art has a way to inspire children to learn more and requires critical thinking which in turn sharpens those skills in other areas of learning such as math, reading and writing. I would love to teach on a reservation and I am flexible to move to the southwest or northeast. Please email me at araewooley@hotmail.com if I would be a good candidate for your program.

My name is Juliana White Bull-Taken Alive. I am from the Standing Rock Reservation. I recently completed my graduate program at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. I have my M.S. in Educational Leadership. I completed my undergraduate work in Elementary Education at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. I have been working on Standing Rock, but I would like to teach in other Native American Schools in the U.S. It is my desire to work in the education field and to provide support and guidance to all students. As a student and an educator, I am aware of the struggles and challenges that Native American students must face and the need to gain the knowledge necessary to accept the challenges of education today. I know that Native American students need Native American teachers and administrators to be role models, and also to provide support in and out of school. I accept the responsibility of being a role model. I am willing to be an example for those students.
